Is there any piece of music that has made a particular impact on you - a piece that stands above the rest?
Help Greg sort through the enormous trove of musical expression created by humankind. It's an exciting quest and impossible to do alone, considering the source is huge (ALL MUSIC):
Be sure to include just what it is that makes you appreciate the piece so much. Everyone reacts differently to music, and your unique vantage point could alter the way another person listens to the piece!
Your responses will be shared with everyone and will serve as a great resource for Greg and other musicians. You may even hear your suggestion on one of Greg's concerts, or it may serve as inspiration for a new composition. A great piece can be a catalyst for a great program!
To help get you thinking, here are some of Greg's thoughts when he considers learning a new piece.
I'm looking for music that hits me over the head like a dropped sack of bricks.
...for music that has something bold and unique to say.
I'm looking for music that will represent me effectively as the person I am.
...for a piece that I can practice for weeks, months, years, a lifetime.
I'm looking for music that relates to the world in which we live today.
...for music that matters.
So, what music do you wish you heard more often? What pieces have made a strong impact on you?
