Libertango

a transcription for four-hands/one-piano (based on a tango by Piazzolla) by Greg Anderson (2004)

This transcription utilizes innovative techniques for two pianists seated at one piano. Our audiences frequently resort to standing up to "see" how it's done!

Quotes from a review regarding Libertango in the Southampton Press, April 21, 2005:

"riveting"

"extremely imaginative"

"They bypassed in part the fact that the piano is a percussive instrument by reaching into its belly and plucking the strings, much as a string player uses pizzicato. The unique combination of playing and plucking, involved a physical intertwining, not only of hands but also of bodies."

Unfortunately, the score to the transcription is not for sale. Please refer to this page on andersonroe.net to learn about why. Visit the Composition Page to see other compositions and arrangements by Greg Anderson that are for sale.

The Anderson & Roe Piano Duo included a vigorous performance of the work on their album, "Reimagine."
